Introduction
An architect and designer by trade, it is no surprise that Alain Silberstein’s timepieces feature some of the most unique aesthetic choices you'll see through the use of bright colors, odd geometric shapes, and distinctive artistry. Founded in 1987, Alain Silberstein represents the less serious side of watchmaking without sacrificing quality, craftsmanship, or attention to detail – tenants of modern fine horology. With the brand no longer producing watches of their own, Alain Silberstein’s influence on the industry is now represented through collaborations or discontinued pieces like the “Le Reveil Noir” that we have here. Featuring the hours, minutes, seconds, day, date, and an alarm function, the “Le Reveil Noir” ref. 401-305 is a stainless steel timepiece that is packed full with functional complications that contrast its playful design in such a way that highlights the brand’s overarching desire to appeal to watchmaking’s most important tenants, and not get too lost in an otherwise stunning and contemporary design.
